4-Year-Old falls asleep on baby's play mat in the kitchen...too tired and too modest to admit he needs a nap.
The subject of napping often comes up as a parent. You might find yourself asking does my child need a nap, or not? And, you'll find yourself revisiting this question frequently as they get older.
From my experience, my children are somewhat unhuman when they don't nap.
I'm serious. They act, sound, and make faces like they're little marshians or something. They become so wired that it is next to impossible to get them to come back down to earth.
Take today for example, we were outside most of the day, and got home late - 2 hours past their nap time. It was nearly dinner time, and I thought for sure that if I let them nap, they wouldn't be able to get to bed later tonight.
Well, was that a fun afternoon or what!?
My boys ran around the house all afternoon like their pants were on fire. They at one point scaled the back of the couch, summersaulted out of our chairs, and tore the house a part from top to bottom like little tornados....
